Welcome to Milnthorpe Primary School

On behalf of our children, staff and governors, I’m delighted to welcome you to Milnthorpe Primary School’s website. Whether you're a prospective parent, a member of our community, or simply curious about our school, I hope you enjoy exploring what makes Milnthorpe such a special place to learn and grow.

Nestled between the Kent Estuary and the rolling hills of South Cumbria, our school is proud to be part of a vibrant village community with a deep connection to the natural world. We believe that learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door — our curriculum is enriched by outdoor experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. From residentials, city visits and outdoor adventures to local partnerships with the Morecambe Bay Project and Cumbria Wildlife Trust, our children are encouraged to explore, discover and thrive in the world around them.

Our aim is simple: to help every child reach their full potential. We want our pupils to become confident individuals, enthusiastic learners and kind, responsible citizens — ready for the next stage of their journey and equipped with the skills to make a positive difference.

Safeguarding and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. We value the strong partnership between home and school, and we encourage parents and carers to be active participants in their child’s education. Together, we create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported and inspired.

It’s a privilege to lead such a dynamic and inclusive school, where children are eager to learn and staff are passionate about providing the very best opportunities. I warmly invite prospective families to visit us and experience the energy, warmth and joy that define life at Milnthorpe Primary School.
